POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Assistant provides support in different areas within the Human Resources department, such as recruiting & onboarding, payroll & benefits administration, and record maintenance. The HR Assistant will provide customer service to employees by answering questions regarding benefits, policies & procedures, etc.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Post internal job postings via email communication & external job postings via Indeed.com & GBC Careers page.
  • Review applications/resumes and complete preliminary phone interviews.
  • Schedule in-person interviews in Outlook calendars, and confirm details with candidates.
  • Assist with employee onboarding, to include set up of pre-employment items, new-hire paperwork, and orientation
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly staff, which includes ensuring PTO and other pay is correctly tracked.
  • Answer payroll questions and facilitate resolutions to any payroll errors.
  • Provide garnishment and child support orders to Paychex, provide responses to government agencies, and follow through with employee communication.
  • Administer company insurance benefits by assisting employees, researching and communicating information and contacting insurance providers or brokers.
  • Assist newly eligible employees with benefit and 401k enrollments.
  • Assist with annual insurance open enrollment process, and 401K changes throughout the year.
  • Organize, file, and maintain all employee records, for current and terminated employees, in accordance with federal & state laws, and per company policy.
  • Enter all employee changes into Paychex and OnCore systems, and collect required paperwork for employee files.
  • Perform file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of PTO, attendance, safety, quality, and corrective actions.
  • Administer the steel-toe boot/shoe and safety eyeglass re-imbursement programs.
  • Perform positive and helpful customer service to employees.
  • Assist employees with FMLA requests and questions, and with the disability enrollment process.
  • Serve as back-up for other members of the Human Resources department, as needed.
  • Other duties, as assigned.


SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Human Resources Management strongly preferred.
  • 1-2 years relevant work experience preferred, experience in manufacturing a plus.
  • Possess proficient computer skills – especially Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Maintain confidentiality; acts ethically and with integrity
  • Problem solving skills in dealing with HR issues.
  • Organized and works well under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize work and work in a fast-paced, detail oriented environment.                                     



Machine Operators & Assistants
Job Summary Immediate full time opening for individuals who have the will and energy to excel! Rotating 12-hour shifts with built-in overtime OR a modified 8/12 hour rotating shift where you are scheduled no more than 4 days in a row. Great pay. Safe and clean facilities Responsibilities and Duties Essential Functions Statement(s) Ability to work safely and accident-free in all job functions. Examine completed work to verify conformance to work orders along with all areas of quality, and adjust machinery as necessary to correct any issues. Start machines and move controls to regulate tension of paper, to synchronize speed of machine components, adjust winding parameters, folding parameters, and all down-stream equipment to meet the specifications of each product. Ability to make machine adjustments using basic hand tools. Install machine change parts to meet new product specifications. Measure, space, and set perforation blades/anvils and slitters according to product specifications. Place rolls of paper in machine back stands and safely thread paper through embossers, slitting rolls, folding rolls, rewinder area, etc. Fill glue reservoirs. Disassemble machines to maintain, repair, or replace broken or worn parts, using hand or power tools. Able to run, troubleshoot, grade change all downstream equipment i.e. log bander, roll wrappers, case packers, bundlers, case stackers, etc. along with the folder and/or rewinder. Able to meet daily production standards specific to each product. Able to meet all quality standards to include completing the quality checklist. Able to accurately complete the daily production report including down-time recording. Responsible for providing the necessary training needs to the team within the employee’s knowledge and capabilities. Direct crew members as needed and ensure they are following all safe work practices. The ability to demonstrate leadership skills on regular, consistent basis. Keep work area clean and organized while following the lean initiatives. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to assist the machine operator by performing general manual labor duties such as placing product in cases, stacking cases on pallets, and all other similar duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Assists the machine operator by performing manual labor tasks on a variety of paper converting equipment.
  • Assists the machine operator with roll changes and other duties.
  • Makes cartons and places product in cartons.
  • Inspects product to meet customer quality criteria
  • Seals product cartons and stacks cartons on pallets.
  • Operates shrink wrap machine (manual or automated).
  • Fills recycle bins with paper for recycling.  Empties recycle bins.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work area.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
